What is business re-organisation?

This is a service we have developed to meet client demand.

The service is a one to one with an adviser who will look at your internal organisation and help you make changes that have proven in the past to free up time, increase productivity and reduce errors.

How the process works!

The process works via a one to one meeting where your adviser will ask you questions about your business to get to know how it works and the problems you may be facing. Typical issues that we have helped resolve in the past:

1. Improve the speed and accuracy of pricing

2. Help organise the electronic filing structure of the business

3. Recommend or implement a customer relationship database

4. Review the use of standard letters in the business

5. Review disaster recovery plans

6. Help with systems and process development

7. Review why problems occur and implement steps to reduce them

So why do I need it!

Many business, especially small businesses are started by technicians who are very good at the technical work that the business does but may not be good at actually organising and designing how the business should work.

Luckily there are often friends, bank managers, accountants who can help with advice. However, often this advice comes in waves and can be fragmented and may not take into account the bigger picture. Subsequently many business react to the problems that occur and the business develops that way. It is rare that a business will sit back and have a good look at how things are working and really get to the bottom of problems and put practical solutions in place to solve these problems.

Example 1

How do you organise your files electronically. Maybe you do it in my documents on your c:/ drive and if you have more than one computer you may do it on one and share this drive between the computers. Possibly the files in the C:/ drive are not organised at all, maybe you have all of the quotes in one quote folder, letters in another etc.

This can be a nightmare if you are trying to back this data up, you may not even back up your data.

Our approach is to have all of the files in one central document store that contains one folder for each customer, in that folder is all correspondence and letter , quotes et to do with that customer. This one folder can be backed up easily and cna be shared among colleagues. If you have a server you can still use this approach.

Example 2

One client we recently helped was writing out letter to customers over and over again with needless duplication. We simply analysed all the letters and produced 3 standard letters and were able to link these to his database so that he could produce them, with customer details on them, at a click of a button.
