We love being part of Music On The Green, the event has raised £50,000 for charity in the 3 years we have been involved.

We not only help by donating our time to help with ticketing, accounting and bookkeeping. We also help with the setup and running of the day. In fact, Will Wood the owner of Accsys Accountants was this year’s Event Manager with ultimate responsibility for the running of the event.

This event cannot go ahead without enormous support from the community, from the sponsors (see below) the vendors, music acts and the charities it supports.

The 2018 event turned out to be a soggy day, but the weather didn’t dampen our spirits one bit.

How we helped

The event is run by a Community Interest Company (CIC) that we helped to set up to ensure that not only are the organisers protected but the enterprise is not for profit.

Once again, we have been integral in managing the finances for the event starting by setting the budget to make sure costs were controlled and the event raises as much for charity as it can.

Once we had the budget, we entered this into www.xero.com so we could use the budgeting feature to track the costs. We combined Xero with other connected cloud apps such as https://www.skiddle.com/ to take care of Ticket Sales combined with https://stripe.com/gb to take payments.

All of this meant that we could easily manage the sales of tickets and the bookkeeping for the event whilst keeping an eye on the finances to ensure we didn’t overspend and could maintain our charitable donations.

Jo Conner, Chairperson of Bearsted Events CIC says “Once again, Will and his team at Accsys have been great they have really taken much of the worry out of the finances, to date we have raised £50,000 for charity and we couldn’t be happier”, she went on to say “When we came together to bring this event back we wanted to ensure that it would work financially and Will and Accsys have been invaluable in making that happen”
