With the goverment promise to make greener choices the Kent County Council want to make a move to electric vans! Securing £1.5M of Highways England funding to operate a two-year electric van scheme for businesses.

The aim is to encourage businesses to convert their fleets to electric, with a free 2 month trial (although the scheme is free there is a £250.00 deposit required if any damages occur) they have the opertunity to trial the product before commiting to a big purchase or lease.

Applying for this scheme requires 2 simple steps :

  • Contacting  revs@csltd.org.uk registering your intrest
  • Arrange a fleet review

Is my business eligible? 

Every business is assessed on an individual basis however any SME, charitable body or public sector authority are eligible to apply.

Businesses not eligible

• Courier services
• Transportation of large amounts of hazardous products/chemicals (thisexcludes those using the products to carry out their daily service/tasks, whowill be assessed on an individual basis)

As this scheme is set up by the Kent County Council businesses have to be in the Kent and Medway area to be eligiable to apply.

Going to be driving the Van? 

All potential drivers on the van will need to have licence checks and complete a driver form.

The vans also come with fully comprehensive insurance.

Your business will need to cover the costs of using local charging points.
