Wearing a face mask is now mandatory in shops and it is illegal not to do so. If a customer refuses to wear one in a retail environment, they will be fined £200 (unless exempt). Small businesses are, however, worried about the abuse they might experience, when confronting customers.

Double-digit house price growth returns as ‘buoyant’ market keeps up pace

House prices unexpectedly returned to double digit growth last month, as the property market kept up its “extremely buoyant” pace, new figures show.

With the pandemic hitting and the stamp duty holiday, the boost in the housing market is growing year on year. With many businesses switching from an office to WFH (Working from Home) many people want more space in their homes, rather than a short commute to the office.

TSB to close 70 more branches – is yours one of them?

The closures next year, will leave the bank’s network around a third of the size of when the brand returned to the high street eight years ago.

With over 90% of customer transactions carried out online and video being the common way of communicating, the need for stores has reduced significantly.

Electric car sales accelerating faster than charge point installations: One new device is added to the network for every 52 vehicles registered in 2021

Reports suggest that the demand for electric cars is not being matched by the growth of public charging networks.

So far, to the end of September 2021, the total number of new public charging points installed is 4,109 compared to the 212,181 electric cars sold, meaning only one charging point is being installed for every 52 electric cars.

This is a problem that needs to be resolved, if they want to stop the purchases of new petrol and diesel cars by 2050.
