New home working order: Another blow for small firms

From Monday, the government says that people should once again work from home “if you can”, as measures are stepped up to fight the Omicron variant of Covid.

This has come at an already bad time for small businesses, who are still trying to recover from the last restrictions, and adds another layer of uncertainty about their futures.

David Abrahamovitch says his chain of nine café restaurants in London, were only just starting to get back on their financial feet after the last lockdown. Many businesses now feel they are going back to square one.

COVID-19: Businesses demand taxpayer aid as Plan B in England puts ‘fragile’ recovery at risk

Business leaders have warned that taxpayer support will be necessary to help firms navigate the impact.

New work from home restrictions being implemented at the busiest time of the year and at such short notice is impacting many businesses.

An additional charge before a flight that finally makes sense! Gatwick to get world’s first airport charging hub for electric vehicles next year

Gatwick Electric Forecourt is the first at an international airport and is due to be completed in Autumn 2022.

This is comforting news for electric vehicle owners, who will be able to use one of the 36 high-speed devices to charge their car before their onward journey. Helping to bring Gatwick Airport nearer to reaching its aim of net zero carbon emissions by 2040, the hub will hopefully encourage more people to be confident in electric vehicle purchases in the future.
